I enjoy writing and I try to make everything I write as personal and appropriate to my audience as possible. Whether that is a passionate letter on why I think a project should be funded, a talk to young people that, despite having some significant barriers to their learning, are trying to succeed, or a speech to journalists about how beautiful and inspiring the Welsh landscape is. I have created content for websites, apps, e-books, newspapers, magazines and books, as well as editing my own book of essays. My writing has often been combined with presenting and includes: live and online lectures, a theatre show and a TV documentary. Currently, I am writing a weekly blog and trying to find time to write stories for children.
- Speech writing
- Article & blog writing
- Educational Resources
My copywriting work has been varied and exciting. It has included writing introductions and content for promotional material for: events, festivals, radio, TV and travel brochures. I have also written letters in support of projects applying for funding from government organisations and charities, as well as researching and writing prompts for Question and Answer discussions. Most recently, I have undertaken a large project and created a comprehensive, original and accessible website about the writer, Dylan Thomas.
I have written, and often given talks to groups as diverse as: travel writers, journalists, politicians, teachers, school children, literary societies and charities. Whether the organisations are large or small, I put much time and effort into each speech ensuring it is both original and individual to my audience.
ARTICLES & BLOGS
I currently write a weekly blog for the DiscoverDylanThomas.com website and link current affairs, news stories and events to the writer’s work and life. I have also written many blogs and articles for companies and charities including: ESPN, Book Brunch, the Huffington Post and Visit Wales.
I am a primary school teacher with over fifteen years experience both in the classroom and as a tutor. I like to tailor my lessons appropriately and make them unique to each student. I often produced my very own lesson plans and teaching resources. Furthermore, I have helped design and deliver many education programmes, in particular focussing on teaching literacy creatively for children and young people with barriers to their learning. In my spare time I write stories for children.
